Amanda Webb

Title: Assistant Principal/Advanced Math Teacher
Biography: Mrs. Webb was born and raised in Cross Lanes, WV and graduated from Nitro High School.  In 2007, she earned a B.A. from Marshall University in Secondary Education with an emphasis on math and general science.  In 2009, she completed her Masters in Fine Arts (Secondary Education: Instructional Processes and Strategies), she earned a Masters in Special Education in 2012, and in 2017 she earned a Masters in Educational Leadership.  She has been a mathematics teacher at St. Joseph Central Catholic High School since 2008 and the Chairman of the Math Department since 2010.  As Chairman, she also sponsors the national math honorary, Mu Alpha Theta.  Mrs. Webb is WV certified in Mathematics 5-Adult, Special Education 5-Adult, Advanced Placement, and Administration.  She has also served as the Chairman of Vision and Purpose for the school's academic accreditation process.  She also teaches mathematics several evenings a week at Mountwest Community and Technical College.  She has been involved in the Advanced Placement Calculus Reading in Kansas City, MO for the past two years.  Mrs. Webb married her best friend, Joe, in 2013. She enjoys going to concerts with her friends and little sister.  Her favorite recording artist is Taylor Swift.  Her greatest sense of success as a math teacher is the fact that our students consistently move forward in their math skills as they prepare for college.  She is the advisor for Prom and Homecoming.
