Amanda Webb

Title: Algebra II / Trigonometry / College Algebra / AP Calculus AB / AP Calculus BC
Biography: Mrs. Webb was born and raised in Cross Lanes, WV and graduated from Nitro High School.  In 2007, she earned a B.A. from Marshall University in Secondary Education with an emphasis on math and general science.  In 2009, she completed her Masters in Fine Arts (Secondary Education: Instructional Processes and Strategies) and she earned a Masters in Special Education in 2012.  She has been a mathematics teacher at St. Joseph Central Catholic High School since 2008 and the Chairman of the Math Department since 2010.  As Chairman, she also sponsors the national math honorary, Mu Alpha Theta.  Mrs. Webb is WV certified in Mathematics 5-Adult and Special Education 5-Adult.  She has also served as the Chairman of Vision and Purpose for the school's academic accreditation process.  She also teaches mathematics several evenings a week at Mountwest Community and Technical College.  Mrs. Webb married her best friend, Joe, in 2013. She enjoys going to concerts with her friends and little sister.  Her favorite recording artist is Taylor Swift.  Her greatest sense of success as a math teacher is the fact that our students consistently move forward in their math skills as they prepare for college.  She is the advisor for Prom and Homecoming.
