Valedictorian, Salutatorian, and Honorarian Announced

Class of 2020 Valedictorian

It is with great pleasure that we announce Samantha R. as the SJHS Class of 2020 VALEDICTORIAN!! Samantha will attend West Virginia State University and study Mathematics. She is the president of Mu Alpha Theta, as well as a member of National Honor Society and Student Council. She has achieved many academic accolades throughout her high school career. She plays both soccer and tennis for St. Joe. In the fall, Samantha will play Division II soccer for West Virginia State, where she will be a goalkeeper in their first-ever official season in the NCAA. Samantha also values service to her community. Along with being Secretary of Key Club, she volunteers every summer at St. Mary’s through their Volunteen program, and participates in many school-run service events, where she has amassed many service hours.


Class of 2020 Salutatorian

We are so excited to announce MaKenzee B. as the Class of 2020 Salutatorian. MaKenzee will attend Marshall University in the fall and plans to major in Psychology. She has 49 credit hours at Marshall. She is the Vice President of both National Honor Society and Hispanic Honor Society, and is a member of Key Club and Mu Alpha Theta. Throughout her high school career, she has been awarded several scholarships. Meanwhile, outside of school, she has participated in many hours of service in hopes to better the community. After college, she hopes to become a clinical psychologist dedicated to aiding at-risk youth.



Class of 2020 Honorarian

We are so excited to announce Addison L. as the SJHS Class of 2020 Honorarian. Addison is 18 years old and has been at St. Joseph Catholic School since kindergarten. During her years at St. Joseph Catholic High School, she has participated in many activities. She is the founder and President of the Health Science Club since 9th grade. She is the Treasurer of Spanish Honor Society, a member of National Honor Society, and a member of Mu Alpha Theta. She is an active Volunteer with Marshall Artist Series. This Spring, Addison was the recipient of the St. Aquinas Medal from St. Joseph High School. Addison will be attending Marshall University, majoring in Biology with the future plan of attending Medical School.
