Ms. Stephanie Hill began teaching at SJCS in 2013 and also teaches classes at SJCHS.
Ms. Hill has over 30 years of teaching experience in both the public and private sectors of
schools. She has experience teaching in both special education classroom settings as well as
inclusive/differentiated classrooms in all grades, Kindergarten through 12th grade. She is a
graduate of Ohio University with a Master’s Degree from Bowling Green State University, and
both degrees were in the field of special education. Ms. Hill then went on to earn an elementary
teacher certification from Marshall University, and has since earned over 50+ graduate hours
from Miami University of Ohio and Ohio University. Ms. Hill finds joy in seeing students take
flight with a new novel or discover writing is not only a tool, but can also be a creative outlet.
She is married to John, SJCS Theology teacher, and they have one daughter, Madelyn, a 2017
graduate of both SJCS and SJCHS. Ms. Hill practices what she teaches as she is a freelance
writer with a weekly column in the Herald-Dispatch and the creator of the website,
stephsimply.com. When not engaged in teaching, Ms. Hill enjoys reading, traveling, hiking, and
spending time in nature. She is a running enthusiast who also practices mediation, yoga, and
