Art
Mrs. Dempsey has worked at St. Joseph Catholic School since 2006 and St. Joseph High School in 2021. Mrs. Dempsey began her career at St. Joseph Catholic School as the Physical Education and Health teacher, Pre-School through 5th grade, and soon after added Art to her classes. As the school expanded, Mrs. Dempsey became the full-time Art teacher for grades Kindergarten through 8th grade and will add grades 9-12 in the 2021-2022 school year. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina Wilmington with a degree in Fine Arts and Art History and is also a licensed Children’s Fitness Instructor. She is currently pursuing a Masters of Art Education degree.
Mrs. Dempsey is a certified instructor for Pixar in a Box. She is on the Educator Executive Board for XIAB (a collaborative initiative including Pixar, Disney, Epic Games, Adobe, and Khan Academy) where our SJHS Art Courses act as pilot classrooms for their upcoming education programs. For many years, Mrs. Dempsey has helped with props and decorations for prom and homecoming at SJHS.
