Upon enrollment and registration, students are required to complete a summer reading assignment from their teachers. These assignments are posted before the academic year’s end, allowing students to work on them throughout the summer break. Summer work is turned in promptly at the start of the school year. Every English course in St. Joe requires students to complete summer reading assignments. Other courses, such as Math, may also require students to complete summer work. The student must check their email and the school’s website for specific instructions regarding these assignments. If a student fails to complete the work and turn it in on time at the beginning of the school year, they will receive a zero.
If students enroll or register late for St. Joe, they must discuss this immediately with their teacher. These students will still be required to complete the summer assignment. Though the student will have the first quarter to complete the summer work, they must do so on their own time while still completing their regularly assigned and scheduled work. If the student fails to complete the work and turn it in before the first quarter ends, they will receive a zero.
