Susan Popp

Title: Communications
Biography: Mrs. Popp is originally from Huntington and graduated from Vinson High School. She lived in Virginia for 14 years (Danville and Blacksburg). She attended Radford University and graduated from Marshall University with a B.S. in Library Science and Middle School Studies where she was a member of the Concert & Marching band, Wind Ensemble, Music Educators Association and Phi Kappa Alpha Honorary. She is a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi, having served in all offices and on all committees, including Councils in 2 states. Since graduating from Marshall, Mrs. Popp has taken graduate hours from Marshall University, Ohio University and WVU. She taught classes in Wayne County prior to coming to St. Joseph Central Catholic High School in 1989. Mrs. Popp has been nominated for Montgomery County Woman of the Year, has been in the Who's Who of Southern Women, two times in the Who's Who of American Teachers and a Tandy Teacher of the Year. She also serves as the Technology Coordinator and a Diocesan Target Teacher and most recently, she received the distinguished Bishop's Cross Award in 2016.  For 10 years, Mrs. Popp organized the school's yearbook.  She enjoys traveling overseas and going to the beach with her family, reading, needlework, attending various sporting events for our school and those of her grandchildren. She is a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a widow, mother of 2 daughters and grandmother to 4 grandchildren.  Mrs. Popp is the co-advisor for Student Council and Summer Travel Program.
