Amber Wright

Title: English (10/11/12) / Honors English / Creative Writing
Biography: Ms. Wright was born in Wisconsin and raised in Mississippi. In 2012, she earned a B.A. in English from Delta State University in Cleveland, MS (birthplace of the blues!). After graduating, she remained in Cleveland where she worked as a writer and photographer for the Cleveland Current and Delta Magazine and was involved in theatre. In 2013, Ms. Wright relocated to Huntington with her fiance, Chad, for his new position as Outdoor Pursuits Director at Marshall University's Rec Center. In 2014, Ms. Wright entered a graduate program at Marshall. During her graduate studies, she taught English courses and tutored in the university Writing Center. After graduating with her M.A. in English in 2016, she joined the St. Joe faculty. In addition to teaching 10th, 11th, and 12th grade English, including Honors and Creative Writing, she sponsors the Key Club. When Ms. Wright is not in the classroom, she enjoys being outdoors hiking or running. She also writes nonfiction. She is a big fan of the Gilmore Girls and Harry Potter and mama to three fur-babies, a golden retriever named Crosby and two cats named Walle and Willoughby.
