Camp Lincoln Application - 6 downloads
Entries should be submitted to the school’s office on or before April 12th .

Again, this year the Huntington Cabell Republican Women are proud to sponsor two scholarships to the annual Camp Lincoln conservative youth leadership camp.  The dates for Camp Lincoln in 2017 are July 9th, through July 15th.  The Camp is located at Camp Caesar in Cowen, West Virginia and is open to students ages 14 – 18. Two students will receive a scholarship in the amount of $250.00 which covers the admission for the camp.

Our country is in a state of transition in the government and throughout and leadership characteristics are so necessary and needed in our representatives to provide solutions. The HCRW believe true leadership begins with establishing values; learning to be confident and have strong listening skills among others and developing those skills early is a plus.

To be considered for a scholarship each interested student must complete an application, which you will find included, and a 300-500 word essay with emphasis on leadership.  Individual titles are encouraged and originality and creativeness must be a priority.

The final determination from our committee will be made using the following criteria:

  • Originality – be creative but authentic and factual
  • Research and relevance to the subject
  • Developing the thoughts and supporting the conclusion
  • Structure and grammar
  • On-time application and essay

To learn more about Camp Lincoln students or others that are interested should visit the webpage at www.camplincolnwv.org.  Entries should be submitted to the school’s office on or before April 12th.  Additional inquiries:  joycewholland@comcast.net or 304-638-6701.

The committee will meet and advise the finalists no later than May 15, 2017.  Again thank you for your willingness to help HCRW promote this unique and valuable learning experience at Camp Lincoln.  We look forward to seeing many applications and interest from your school.

Cordially,
Joyce Holland
